French electro prodigy is on a roll and speeding down a highway made of intergalactic electronic beats.
Based in Rennes, France, Les Gordon has recently gained exposure thanks to his clever combination of beats, experimental melodies and acoustic samples. The talented music producer and his extremely sharp tunes have already gathered a lot of attention, and can surely look forward to a promising future.
If you’ve heard and enjoyed Mura Masa’s releases from 2014 such as “Lotus Eater” or “Miss you”, you’ll hear the British producer/songwriter’s influence. It sounds like they both share the desire to take us on a trip to semi-imaginary destinations, by means of tenuous vocals, well-assimilated musical and cultural references, all layered with psychedelic electronic beats.
Les Gordon uses his passion for electronic music to travel back to his dad’s Taiwanese roots. This 3rd EP of his was entirely recorded at home but don’t get me wrong: it’s an invitation to plug in your earphones on and set out on a boat or a plane, to escape the Brume and aim for new Horizons.
But we’ll let the music do the talking. Here’s two tracks from his latest EP: Atlas and Brume.
